Light snow is likely over the higher reaches of Kinnaur, Shimla and Lahaul-Spiti in Himachal Pradesh, while the Northeast faces thunderstorms and Bihar and east Uttar Pradesh stay wet, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast issued for 1 November, as reported by India.com and News24. Delhi-NCR is forecast to be partly cloudy on Sunday with no heavy-rain warning.

Isolated Rain and Snow in Chamba and Upper Kangra

Besides the higher reaches, isolated rain or snow is forecast for Chamba and upper Kangra until 2 November, News24 reported, while plains and mid-hills stay mostly clear. Travellers heading to Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti should check road status with the district administration before leaving, since snow on high passes can close them at short notice.

Arunachal Pradesh Gets the Heaviest Spell

Arunachal Pradesh can expect heavy rain on 2 and 3 November. Assam and Meghalaya are forecast to see thunderstorms and lightning, with heavy showers at isolated places on 3 November; most of Assam may get heavy rain that day, India.com reported.

Wet Spell in Bihar and East UP Till 4 November

Bihar is forecast to see scattered showers over the next few days, and east Uttar Pradesh isolated to scattered rain, with the wet spell continuing until 4 November. Neither report gives alert colours or temperatures for these states. IPB’s earlier report on flash flood risk in Bihar and Sikkim and the Delhi weather outlook give the earlier context. The IMD’s next all-India bulletin will update the 3-4 November outlook.
