Delhi, Punjab and Haryana will stay mostly dry until about 12 November, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its all-India bulletin issued at 8:59 pm on 7 November, while air quality in the capital remains in the severe range. A fresh Western Disturbance reaches the western Himalayas on 10 November, and rain is expected to return to the northwestern plains only around 12–13 November.

Smog Stays Through the Weekend

For Delhi-NCR, the IMD forecast mainly clear skies and shallow fog or mist in the morning, with temperatures between 15°C and 30°C. There is no rain in the forecast to clear the air. The IITM-run Air Quality Early Warning System expects severe air quality from 7 to 9 November and “severe to very poor” conditions for the six days after that, The Week reported. The overall AQI was 364 at 8 am on Saturday; IIT Delhi recorded 443. Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan has been in force since 6 November. IPB’s earlier report on the GRAP-III curbs has the full list of restrictions.

Mandi Was the Coldest Station

The lowest minimum temperature in the country on 7 November was 9.9°C at Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. Minimum temperatures were below normal at many places across north India. The IMD expects isolated rain in Uttarakhand from 8 to 11 November.
