Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh Dry Week: Deesa Hits 38.6°C, Nights Run Cold
Hot afternoons and cold nights mark the dry week ahead for Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, with fog over Saurashtra and Kutch.

Deesa in Gujarat recorded 38.6°C on 7 November, the highest maximum temperature in India that day, while nights stayed well below normal across Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its all-India bulletin issued at 8:59 pm. The IMD expects no significant weather over west and central India this week.
Big Gap Between Day and Night
Minimum temperatures were markedly below normal, by more than 5°C, at isolated places in East and West Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. They were appreciably below normal, by 3.1°C to 5.0°C, at several places across the country. The IMD has not declared a cold wave in this bulletin. In Gujarat the contrast is sharper: Deesa’s afternoon heat of 38.6°C sits against the 9.9°C minimum at Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, the coldest station on the day.
Fog Over Saurashtra and Kutch
Moderate fog was observed at isolated places over Saurashtra and Kutch on 7 November. The bulletin carries no fog forecast for the next five days. Drivers on highways in the region should expect reduced visibility in the early hours. No rain is forecast for Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh or Chhattisgarh during the week.
