Thoughts of a girl. #boyslockerroom

Read many articles and posts on #boyslockerroom. These are some of my observations.

Many people including men and women, are criticising the boys of the group for talking such shit in a chatroom.

How many of you have such chatrooms where you guys/girls talk shit about a specific gender or person? Many of you, don’t you? Body shaming, sharing nude pics, porn screenshots, celebrity scandals, roaming your classmates pictures of either gender, talking about his or her sizes, and what not.

We all know, we all are equally responsible for this. In some cases, we are the boys from #boyslockerroom and in some, we are the girls whose private pictures roamed all around the group.

How can I drop a statement like that? We didn’t talk to that extreme in our chats. Yet.

Extreme? Really? The boys from #boyslockerroom talked about raping girls, shared their nudes, body shamed them. What did you do? Barely anything compared to that. Just talked about her cleavage yesterday to my few friends. Didn’t ever say anything about raping her. Yeah, maybe said something about sleeping with her. Now, I dont know, what girls talk cause I don’t have such group or chatroom where we talk shit about boys. But if you know, please let me know.

There is never just black and white. There’s always a gray, and many more shades to it. Some close to black, some close to white.

Similarly, there’s more than just right or wrong. The #boyslockerroom case was wrong, definitely. What about the things we all do? Just because their chats got viral and yours didn’t, doesn’t mean we aren’t wrong. We all are same. But our mentality, maturity, manners are the qualities which makes us different from them.

Recently, one of my friends shared her incidence from her college group, where a guy just shared a joke where he called our dean, a whore, which maybe common for us while talking shit about college stuff, or talking in your boys group. But that group included girls too. Some of the boys in the group even laughed on the joke. But my friend stopped him right there saying it’s not right to say such things to our dean or any lady. On which, he said he was just fooling around and she should learn to accept it as a joke. To which she without further talking to him, left the group disgusted. This is where not only the boy who said things about dean was wrong, but his other friends who encouraged him laughing on his stupid joke. Which wasn’t even funny. This is the incidence on a group where the girls were added too. What about the other groups where girls aren’t added? This disgusts us.

What do we expect from boys or gents out there is just some respect and nothing else is there that we want. Is it that difficult to respect a woman? Now some of you will say, we women should respect men too. We do, but here I am just talking about my opinion on #boyslockerroom case.

It is said :- do the mistakes, but don’t get caught. They did the mistake and got caught. You didn’t. Think about it.

Plus, I am not saying all men are trash and some shit like that. I know some boys who respect the women in real, but sadly I know some people too who talk trash about women. How can they all be same? They are not. I am yet to come to a conclusion, but if you wanna debate on this, I am right here.
