BJP will break all its victory records in UP polls, there is pro-incumbency: Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma

According to Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma, there is a “pro-incumbency” wave in Uttar Pradesh rather than an “anti-incumbency” wave, and the party will break all of its previous victory records in the state’s ongoing assembly elections.
In an interview with PTI, Sharma also stated that it was the party’s decision not to field him in the assembly elections, and he dismissed claims that Brahmins, the community from which he hails, are dissatisfied with the BJP.
He stated that this time, it is not the party but the people who are running for the BJP. “The large crowds and their reactions demonstrate this. Furthermore, the polls are being contested by the party symbol rather than the candidates.”
In 2017, the BJP won 312 seats in the 403-member UP house, bringing its total strength to 325 with the help of its NDA allies. BJP leaders have claimed that their vote total will exceed that of 2017.
Sharma was expected to run in the assembly elections from any of the Lucknow seats, but his name did not appear on the final party list.Sharma is the only one of the top three members of the BJP government in the state, alongside CM Yogi Adityanath and his deputy Keshav Prasad Maurya, who is not running for re-election. All three are currently members of the state legislative council. Sharma had been the mayor of the Lucknow Municipal Corporation for the previous ten years.
Opposition parties have been reaching out to the numerically dominant Brahmin community, assuming they are dissatisfied with the Adityanath government’s performance.
When asked about some party leaders leaving the BJP ahead of the elections, including Swami Prasad Maurya, Sharma said, “Those who left the party had personal reasons for doing so. Our party is a cadre-based organization, so such leaders leaving the party will have no effect. Leaders from all walks of life and political parties have expressed their support for the BJP and joined it.”
He claimed that the BJP has zero-tolerance for crime and criminals and that the government has broken the mafia’s backbone. The people of the state understand what the BJP government stands for, and they will undoubtedly vote the BJP into power, he said.
