Air India Cancels Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah Flights Till October 20

October 16, 2026 By India People Blog 1 min read

Air India has cancelled all its flights to and from Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah until October 20, 2026, citing the security situation in Saudi Arabia. The airline announced the extension in a travel advisory on X on Friday, October 16.

What Passengers Need to Know

Air India said affected passengers will receive a full refund and that the safety of passengers and crew is its priority. The airline said it is “closely monitoring developments” and will assess the situation before resuming services. Travellers have been advised to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.

Other Indian carriers, including IndiGo and Akasa Air, have also suspended some Saudi services, with dates varying by airline and route. Passengers should confirm directly with their carrier.

The cancellations follow recent attacks on civilian airports in Saudi Arabia, which the ICAO Council has condemned. The Indian Embassy has confirmed that an Indian national was among those killed in an October 10 attack on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport. The disruption matters for the large number of Indians who live and work in Saudi Arabia and for pilgrims and families travelling between the two countries.
