Two-In-One

A rare rose-breasted grosbeak bird was found in a nature reserve in Pennsylvania, US. Its uniqueness was in the fact that it was both a male as well as a female (half-and-half).
The rose-breasted grosbeak is a large seed-eating bird. The males usually have blackheads, wings, tails, and a bright rose-colored patch on their white breast as well as rose-red wing linings.
The females usually have brown heads, wings, tails, and a buff central belly as well as yellowish wing linings.
The grosbeak discovered was suffering from a condition called bilateral gynandromorphy and was divided into a right male side with rose-red wing lining and a left female side with yellowish wing lining.
