The public contribution will not be taken this year for Ganeshotsav in Pune

The public contribution will not be taken this year for Ganeshotsav by prominent Ganpati mandals in Pune. Due to various regulations of COVID-19, a muted Ganeshotsav will happen rather than the fascinating one which happens every year in Pune.
Otherwise, every year, varganis (public contribution) starts a month before the Ganeshotsav. This year, big pandals will not be installed by the Ganpati mandals.
Mahesh Suryavanshi, treasurer of Dagdusheth Ganpati Mandal said – “This year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, everything has changed and it applies to all of us celebrating the Ganpati festival. We have formed a group of all prominent Ganpati pandals in the city, Jay Ganesh Vyaspith.
There are at least 300 mandals in the group and we have appealed to all members to keep the celebration simple, not collect varganis (public contribution) and worship the Ganpati idol for 10 days as per tradition without crowding.”
