“Sons and daughters of a coparcener become coparceners by virtue of birth”; according to the amendment

A three-judge bench, headed by Justice Arun Kumar Mishra, today said,” Once a daughter always a daughter, a son is a son till he is married. The daughter shall remain a coparcener throughout life irrespective of whether her father is alive or not. “In 2005 the Hindu Succession Act didn’t have a retrospective effect. But today the top court makes the remark that women will share equal rights in the property as the sons of an undivided wealth, whether her father was alive or not in 2005 when the law was amended.
