Now, Tata will run trains in the country

The Modi government has opened the ways of Indian Railways to private companies. Final trials for the privatization of the railways have already begun this month. Lists have already been sought from private companies who are interested in operating passenger trains in the country.
Initially, it has been instructed to hand over the responsibility of running 151 trains on 109 routes across the country to the private sector. Each train will have 16 coaches. Successful companies will be selected through auction.
Government officials hope that this will bring in an investment of Tk 30,000 crore. Apart from this, special emphasis is being laid on the issue of private companies buying train coaches made in India.
