Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune
In Mumbai, supporters gathered at Azad Maidan for what ANI described as a peaceful protest. Activist Anjali Damania, who joined the march, said, “We will wave our country’s Tricolour, and no one can stop us from doing so,” according to ETV Bharat. In Bengaluru, CJP members marched at Town Hall, IANS reported.
In Pune, the party has announced a rally at the Collector’s Office on Saturday, October 17, from 4 pm to 7 pm, and said it has obtained permission. The CJP is demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The marches came on the day Delhi Police detained CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and AISA chief Neha Bora in central Delhi. For background on the campaign, read why the CJP is holding these protests.
