J&K class 12th topper face backlash over not wearing hijab

In the backdrop of a building protest all over the country, protecting women’s right to wear a hijab, a girl from Jammu and Kashmir, named Aroosa Parvaiz who topped class 12th board exam in Kashmir became a target online, trolling her for not wearing hijab.
She was even given death threats over exercising her right to wear hijab or not.
Aroosa Parvaiz gave a fitting reply to the trolls saying, “Wearing or not wearing hijab doesn’t define one’s belief in their religion. Maybe, I love Allah more than they (trolls) do. I’m a Muslim by heart not by hijab”.
She admitted that even though none of this troll affected her, it became an unsettling issue for her family.
“These comments do not matter to me, but my parents are undergoing trauma”, she told reporters.
The matter started with the felicitation ceremony, where she was felicitated for bagging first position in the science stream. The journalist published toppers photos and videos, which became a target for trolls who shamed women students for not covering their heads.
