Indian students wishing to study abroad

In a world where hope seems scarce and times are bleak, there seems to be good news for students in India who wish to study abroad. The ongoing pandemic has forced alterations in our existing systems and methods of judgment, and Universities across the globe are no exception.
From changes such as a more adaptive curriculum to distance-learning options, institutions are updating their teaching methods to suit the needs of the times. While a stellar academic record is definitely important, there are some unusual out-of-the-box factors that are being looked at as well.
The limitations in resources right now have forced many universities to cancel test scores and other previous admission requirements. Prominent institutions in the West are now no longer looking at such tests as the GRE examination as the sole criteria for judgment for their Master’s programs.
Instead, student profiles and their presentation, including a good statement of purpose have gained importance and could be the difference between acceptance and rejection. Furthermore, letters of recommendation, work experience certificates, and other such documents are being given more weight.
A student with a significant number of those has a higher chance of being selected in an elite institution. Also, with an increase in applications, Universities are more likely to consider the ones which come in first.
So applying early can be an advantage. Also, creating an attractive profile on applications such as LinkedIn can increase a student’s chances, as things go more virtual, and universities start looking online to check up on their applicants.
A final advantage to have would be a higher proficiency in digital skills, as more and more things go online every day, along with soft skills and the ability to work well in a group.
Ultimately, the capacity to adapt to the changing times and adopt a set of skills now considered almost mandatory in the professional world will help students have a higher chance of being admitted into a foreign university, and aid them in the long run as well.
