India-Australia relations strengthen.

India and Australia on Thursday signed seven agreements with the most notable one being access to military bases for logistics support, after the first ever virtual summit between the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart, Scott Morrison. A pact of comprehensive reforms covering almost all areas has been initiated as Modi said in the summit that the Coronavirus epidemic is to be viewed as an “opportunity”. The accord allows the countries to refuel military ships and aircrafts and access maintenance facilities at each other’s bases and is being widely regarded as part of a strategy by democracies to counter China’s military and economic weight in the region. Referring to the virtual summit, Modi termed it “a new model of India-Australia partnership, a new model of conducting business”.
