When England came to bat for day 2 of their first innings they had Buttler and Pope, who did a splendid job last day. The Caribbean pace attack destroyed their smooth partnership. Pope missed his expected ton when Gabriel’s toxic swing scattered the stumps. Chris Woakes also surrendered before Roach, who completed his quota of 200 test wickets. Jos Buttler also has to depart early.
England was stumbling before WIndies bowling, then appeared Stuart Broad. Broad hit a six and started his fiery innings. His half-century came from just 33 balls. England ended their innings at 369. Kemar Roach had taken 4 valuable wickets.
West Indies lost their first wicket very early in Broad’s over. Campbell somehow managed to handle the situation temporarily. The poor batting was conspicuous on the visitors’ side throughout the day. They knocked off their innings at 137/6; Broad and Anderson had gotten 2 wickets each.
