Betrayal Bites Back

Universal love is shared between pet owners and their furry little friends. But sometimes that love is broken because of instances like this one. Kiryusha, a 7-year-old German Shepherd was injected with a lethal dose of a drug and was buried alive by its unfaithful owners in Russia.

On gaining consciousness, the dog dug himself out of his grave and was found walking on a highway in northern Russia, where it was spotted by a passing motorist, Olga Lystseva.

He was later taken to a shelter where he was given medical attention. It was determined that he showed no signs of serious medical injuries. A search was on the go for his owners who were successfully tracked. When questioned, the owners blandly replied that they thought the dog was sick and needed to be ‘put down’.

The shelter later notified that the owners have apologized for their ‘mistake’.
