UAE destroys third Houthi missile of this month

For the third time this month, UAE intercepted and destroyed the missile launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia. The UAE Defense Ministry announced the interception and destruction of a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi group, without any casualty. “The attack did not result in any losses, as the remnants of the ballistic missile fell outside the populated areas,” the ministry tweeted.”The UAE air defense forces and the Coalition Command had succeeded in destroying the missile launcher in Yemen after identifying locations of the sites”, the ministry added.

The ministry reassured on the readiness of the government to deal with any kind of threat, adding it would “take all necessary measures to protect the UAE from any attacks”. There was no disturbance to the movements in the country, as the General Civil Aviation Authority said that “air traffic movement is normal and all flights are operating as usual”, in a Wam statement.US has condemned the attack, by its spokesman Ned Price tweeting, “While Israel’s president is visiting the UAE to build bridges and promote stability across the region, the Houthis continue to launch attacks that threaten civilians”.

UAE is fighting with the Iran-backed Houthi militia in Yemen as a part of the Saudi-led coalition, which has been going on for the last seven years, pushing Yemen to the brink of starvation and extreme poverty. The third attack on Monday was preceded by an attack on Abu Dhabi on 17th January and a second on 24th.
