Students standing outside the class protested against the restriction for three days. Students claimed that they were asked to call their parents, and made wait for three-four hours. When approached by principal Rudra Gowda for talks, he refused to hold any discussion on the issue.

The principal, Rudra Gowda, said that the students are allowed to wear hijab in the premises but not in the classroom, as the rules should be implemented uniformly on every student. He clarified his position by stating that there are 60 Muslim girls in the campus and only six students wear hijab.

Activist Ansar Ahmed came in the support of the students calling the restrictions totally unacceptable. “the educational institutions which should teach students the right path, in engaging in this type of controversy. This is not right”

Discrimination against the minority came in a backdrop when discussion and condemnation is going around over the Muslim women named in an app for auction.
